the ebook reinvented?

Not only is Push Pop Press's ebook version of Al Gore's 'Our Choice' a fantastic piece of design, experience and application of technology but it's also probably disrupted bourgeois parlour gaming for good.

'...it's a book'
'...it's a film'
'...its a mobile app'
'...it's a website'

It's all of the above, and more in one self contained unit.
Charades can never be the same again.

Defying categorisation, testament to convergence theory (new media does not replace old media, it transforms it) and also that mobile is fast becoming everything.

eTech magazine comes to the ipad #eTechApp

eTEch have been publishing an free online 'magazine' that rounds-up technology news, principally for the design engineer/tech community, for a wee while now, but have kicked up a gear with their, also free, ipad edition just released last week.

Makes much more sense to deliver this kind of content in a more interactive way, especially for non-geeky types like myself for whom getting my geek on is an occupational requirement yet not the thing I wake up in the morning champing at the bit about.

Get the app here, but for the content, at 200mb a pop it's a hefty download so 3Ging it is probably not advisable ;)

Good effort.

flipboard

I'm liking the look of Flipboard. It's an ipad application that creates a 'magazine' containing all the content people are sharing from your various social streams, plus other content curated by flipboard, in a nice 'analogue' style mag format.

They say:

'Flipboard is the worldʼs first social magazine. Inspired by the beauty and ease of print media, Flipboardʼs mission is to fundamentally improve how people discover, view and share content across their social networks.'

I just need an ipad now.
